PERSONALITY

SUPERBIA might sometimes operate on logic beyond that of inferior organic minds, but its judgement is never wrong. WHAT MAKES SUPERBIA THINK YOUR CHARACTER IS PRIVATEER MATERIAL? (Powerful martial abilities? Sheer ambitious vision? An ability to make a mean egg salad sandwich?)
Gaelio is a skilled Gundam pilot, capable of giving the best pilots seen in the series at least a hard fight, even without the Alaya-Vijnana implant, which is known for giving mobile suit pilots an advantage in combat. With his Gundam refitted with the newly created Type-E Alaya-Vijnana, Gaelio defeated McGillis Fareed in Gundam Bael - Bael being the key to achieving power and creating a new world because of its symbolism and strength (at least in McGillis's mind). Atop his skills as a pilot, Gaelio is clever, able to form the whole picture of a situation with little information. Early in the series, we see him working with McGillis while investigating corruption in Gjallarhorn's Mars branch. The two piece together what happened to a missing platoon of soldiers as well as how a politician's daughter fit into the plot. Gaelio is fiercely loyal to those he is close to, and operates better when he keeps those in the forefront of his mind (more than once, we see him either gather the will to fight or fight better when he mentions or thinks of loved ones). On the flip side of that, Gaelio will go out of his way to defeat enemies that stand in the way of his goal.

Fortuna is always described as being capable of granting any wish, but its exact nature is unknown. DEEP DOWN, WHAT DOES YOUR CHARACTER WANT IT TO BE THE MOST? (examples: an impossibly powerful weapon, a beautiful natural wonder, a cool giant robot.)
Cliché as it is, Gaelio is in it for the experience. He does not have any hopes for what Fortuna is. He's not even entirely convinced that it's actually real. He'll try to win, of course, where's the fun in not trying? But ultimately he wants the experience of the journey itself, to prove that there is something beyond living for revenge for both himself and Ein, whom he believes some part of lives on in the Type-E Alaya-Vijnana that he and his Gundam Kimaris Vidar have. In the epilogue, Gaelio has had the Type-E implant removed, showing that he has moved on and let Ein's spirit rest. The race to find Fortuna is something of a last hurrah together.

SUPERBIA only desires to prove the existence of the Lucky Star; its privateers are free to do whatever they want with it. IF YOUR CHARACTER GOT THE TREASURE, WHAT WOULD YOUR CHARACTER DO WITH IT? WHY DO THEY WANT TO FIND IT?
While he doesn't think it's realistic, and he may not admit it even to himself, Gaelio wishes most of all to be able to bring the dead back to life. Whatever form Fortuna takes - a god/ess, a wishing tree, hell even a magic lamp - Carta, Ein, and even McGillis, are all people that he wishes could have a second chance. (In the epilogue, we see him lamenting that he wished he understood McGillis sooner. Prior to his betrayal, McGillis and Gaelio were frequently seen together, and Gaelio mentioned he wished he could reach McGillis even before his death. Carta and Ein's deaths at the hands of McGillis's betrayal are Gaelio's entire driving force in season 2.)

Treasure-hunting is not for the weak of heart. WHAT IS YOUR CHARACTER WILLING TO RISK, AND WHAT ARE THEY WILLING TO SACRIFICE?
In any battle, a mobile suit pilot risks death. The search for Fortuna is no different. If Gaelio meets his end on some fantastic journey, so be it. In his mind, he has already been killed once by McGillis. Gaelio is also impulsive and we see more than once in the series that he will bend or ignore his morals for the sake of going after a goal. Twice, he announces he does not agree with what his organization is doing, (once a slaughter on colony protesters, once during the use of banned weaponry,) but tacitly participates anyway for the opportunity to fight a specific enemy.

POWERS AND ABILITIES

Gaelio’s most notable skill (and, outside of his cleverness, really his only ‘ability’) is that as a mobile suit/Gundam pilot. He is shown in season one to be a capable and talented pilot. In season two, Gaelio has been augmented with a unique Alaya-Vijnana implant, and can interface directly with his Gundam Kimaris Vidar, enhancing his skills. He specializes in a hit-and-run style of melee combat using primarily a large lance. The Gundam Kimaris Vidar is a 18.5 meter (approx. 60 ft.) mecha – or giant robot, if you will – with a Gundam frame. These particular frames were made 300 years prior to Gaelio’s time, and fitted with two Ahab Reactors, which allows for enormous power output. All Gundam armor and weapons are nanolaminate, made from the material halfmetal, which is mined on Mars. Kimaris Vidar is fitted with two shields, a lance that has two artillery guns and two Dainsleif launchers (railguns, essentially). Finally, like Gaelio, the Kimaris Vidar is fitted with a unique version of the Alaya-Vijnana system: the Type-E, based on the pilot information of Ein Dalton. The Type-E is capable of increasing output on demand, utilizing battle data to improve the pilot’s performance against strong opponents.
